• What are Creation Cards?


    Creation Cards are the core components of King’s: Cards & Creations. There are 135 Creation Cards in total.

    The foundational pieces of the Tabletop Card Game Engine, Creation Cards are used as the building blocks for each game. Root Rule games use only the basic components of Creation Cards; while Branch Rule games take advantage of Card Layout content, additional mechanics, and/or altered game play.

    Other cards or game pieces may be incorporated into Root or Branch Rule games; like Creation Token Dice and Skill Cards.

  • What are Card Layouts?


    Card Layouts are the different kinds of additional content added to Creation Cards. Card Layouts can be made by players for their own games, for fun, or whatever they can think of:

    Art, jokes, quotes, comics, useful information, trivia, how-to guides, stickers, and of course; content for new or existing games!

    The Core Set exemplifies some of these ideas, and these are just to name a few. This way, players can find trade value in all sorts of things, on cards that work for many different games.

    The Core Set has 3 different Card Layouts for each Creation Card. Make your own ideas with blank cards from Core Packs, or find printable cards for free hidden around the website!

  • What are Skill cards?


    While similar, Creation Cards and Skill Cards are different. Skill cards are additional, separate cards used in different Root and Branch Rule games. Skill cards are not meant to have content added to them, and only have 1 Card Layout for each card.

    Skill Cards, like Creation Cards with prefilled Layouts, are only available in Core Creation Packs or Apparatus Skill Packs.

    Depending on the time of year and how the world of Creation Dreams is altered, different physical card options may be found and bought from different in-world vendors. This includes individual/special cards, Core/Apparatus/Youkoso packs, Core Creator Cubes, and maybe even Youkoso Promo boxes!

Card Layouts

Every Creation Card in the Core 135 set has 3 different Card Layouts, with a total of 10 different Layouts. Card Layouts may be purely aesthetic, or important to certain rules. Player added content to any Creation Card is called Custom Additions. Custom Additions, like Card Layouts, are normally for flavor and do not impact most current games; but may be used, or necessary, for some game rules. Whenever you run into a game rule that states to use specific Creation Cards, like ‘Alt Rule Creation Cards’, or ‘Token Creation Card’, it is talking about Creation Cards with those specific Card Layouts. I will mention again - Skill Cards are NOT Creation Cards, and only have 1 Card Layout.

Keep in mind that Custom Additions cannot alter, cover, or make illegible any Core Creation Card content. Core Creation Card Content is everything visible on the Blank Card Layout. Altering, covering, or making illegible any Card Layout content may subject the card to being considered a ‘Blank Creation Card with Custom Additions’.

Sundry Card Layout - Sundries are the 'odds and ends' cards. Some have room for additional content, some are meant for fun or flavor, some you may find useful or informative. Fortunes are specially added to every Sundry, and it would be rare to find

Handmade Creation Cards

When deciding the route of production, I thought; because I would be offering players to produce content and cards, it would only be fair that I did, too.

So, for the First Edition set: I have personally print, cut, assembled and packaged over 40,000 cards across more than 40 Core boxes, 200 Creator Cubes, and various Promo products and additional packs. All while trying to keep competitive and affordable prices. Making the cards and the content, this is kind of like my personal trade/play set – as well as giving ideas for some things players can do with Creation Cards.

The cards are not machine perfect, but this doesn’t interfere with most casual or competitive play. Minkingi, Creca, Kingdrin, Fwords, and Pazuuru do not require any shuffling, and play fine with cards that are not the same size or thickness - printed or purchased. Card sleeves are optional, but not necessary, for most games and situations. As long as the general thickness and size of the cards are close, card sleeves bring playable consistency to competitive formats and games that require shuffling. This also helps ease the pressure for players to make and play with their own cards – not needing to worry about machine cut accuracy.
